Mechanical Designer Contract

Russell Tobin has an immediate need for a Mechanical Designer in Anaheim, CA! This is a full-time six to 18 month contract position!

As a Mechanical Designer, design and drafting supporting the development and sustainment of all electrical (DC voltage up to 480V 3 phase, etc.), mechanical (HVAC, pumping, P&ID, layout, etc.) and control system (control panel layout, wiring diagrams, schematics, etc.) designs supporting the many assets at the client location. Provide support for the development of bid through implementation level drawing packages and support immediate response efforts with reactionary projects. Support the development and authoring of proposals as well as cost workload estimates with critical path schedule dates to support our project management team. you would work closely with our Design & Engineering teams, line of business customers, outside vendors, and project management staff to support project-specific requirements and create conceptual and production CAD designs, detail drawings, and other supporting documentation.

Shift: 1st 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Salary: up to $41.00/hr.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide support for the development of bid through implementation level drawing packages and support immediate response efforts with reactionary projects.
• Support the development and authoring of proposals as well as cost workload estimates with critical path schedule dates to support our project management team.
• The candidate must follow established practices and enhance design processes and procedures in design, implementation, and stewardship.
• Must be a self-starting effective collaborator to expand experience and develop ideas/thoughts into physical reality.
• The candidate must also be able to provide guidance and concise decision matrices to support executive decisions. Coordinate the content and packaging of all design materials routinely transmitted for review and approval by leadership.
• Create and maintain all project sample boxes for the collection and storage of all physical design components.
• Organize and maintain design resource library and coordination of all initial vendor contact. Perform site visits for the retrieval of field verifications to support the design process (i.e. details, measurements, existing conditions, product data, etc.)
• Participate in the weekly design coordination meetings and helping to identify the higher priority items needing to be expedited.
• Assist Engineers to resolve design compliance issues relating to projects requirements. Validate that all Item Specifications are consistent with products installed prior to archiving manuals. Research availability of As-Built Drawings. Assist with the logistics planning for all Executive Design Reviews involving agenda development which includes participant coordination and physical accommodations distributed to all internal partners and the extended project team. Work closely with Engineering to develop innovative conceptual and production design packages in support of project requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience that includes working with customers and stakeholders to develop designs, oversee installations and perform commissioning of systems involving low voltage type systems: Security (Data, Telecom, Datacom, Fire Alarm, etc.). Experience that includes designing, implementing, commissioning and working with mechanical and piping systems, such as HVAC (chiller and DX) installations, and pumping skid applications. Control assemblies and schematics, specifications development, etc.

Required Education

• The candidate must have an Associate degree or proven design aptitude with minimum 3 to 7 years of field related experience. The candidate must be proficient with Federal level, California and Florida standards and codes (CEC, Title 24, ASHRAE, etc.)
