Finisher Contract

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Understand and utilize established standard operating procedures to perform surface finishing of propellers and C.P. propeller blades using a variety of grinding equipment; i.e. swing grinder, , hand grinder (pneumatic and high cycle).
• Perform finishing functions to include (but not limited to): rough casting cleaning propellers and water jet components. Material handling, utilizing overhead cranes and fork trucks .perform all duties to the highest quality standards and within the allotted time or budget.
• Adhere to prescribed safety rules and regulations. Report to supervision any unsafe conditions that they may become aware of. Must wear or use all company required safety equipment.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Notify supervision or needed tooling, material or problems within the finishing operation.
• Maintain tooling equipment and cleanliness of assigned work areas, etc.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to lift various items weighing up to 40 pounds at times in awkward positions.
• Ability to operate various cranes, material handling equipment, various types of grinders, etc.
• Must have enough manual dexterity to occasionally perform inspections and functions in difficult or awkward positions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS MANDATORY: 
• H.S. plus 1-3 years of applied training. Minimum of 1 year experience in surface finishing of propeller castings or related field. Knowledge of the basic departments’ practices and the correct operation of all procedures and equipment within the department.
• Finishers will be required to be certified Level II L.P.I.
• In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD Confidential Security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship. Clearance is required prior to start.

NON MANDATORY
• Ability to read and understand blueprints. Ability to properly utilize precision measuring equipment.
