What are we looking for in our Research Technician?
The Science Team with Russell Tobin and Associates is hiring a Animal Studies Research Technician to support our client's laboratory based out of Worcester, MA!
Responsibilities
- Primary Technician role and responsibility on multiple basic and 1-2 complex studies
- Receipt, distribution and husbandry of animals
- Orders and setups materials and supplies as required for projects
- Forms and study books preparation
- Dose calculation/verification
- Proficient technical skills (e.g. administration, blood collection, necropsy, etc.) ranging from intermediate to advanced
- Anesthesia monitoring and use of anesthetics
- Proficient at aseptic technique and surgical set up
- May assist the surgeon and/or perform basic surgical procedures
- Observes, records and reports atypical findings to veterinary staff or senior personnel
- Performs data quality control review according to SOPs or study protocols
- May function as a designated trainer
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Science (or equivalent degree) preferred
- Preferred: CRO industry experience and ability to manage high volume, fast paced client projects
- Preferred Certifications: ALAT, LAT, LATG
- Animal handling experience in a laboratory setting and makes animal welfare a priority
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Performs duties according to written protocols and company established SOPs
- Exercises independent judgment to solve problems
- Organized and able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Demonstrates personal integrity and professionalism at all times
- Focused on safety and security in the workplace
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Additional Information:
- DIRECT HIRE POSITION
- Pay rate target: Non-exempt position - $23-26/hr depending on experience
