LAB Technician II Contract

Job Title: LAB Technician II 

Location: Maplewood, MN 55144

Duration: 12 months (possible extension)

Work shift: 1^st  shift (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)

 Job description:

Product development testing of tapes (PSAs) and liquid structural adhesives. Measuring material properties of client standard products and new experimental materials for development and application engineering teams. Testing uses standard test methodology either through ASTM or client internal tests.

Position Duties:

1. Tape testing: including peel, shear, tensile, rheology, liner release, etc. Sample preparation: substrate cleaning, die cutting, lamination, etc. This would include training on relevant test methods and use of instrumentation.
2. Adhesive testing: including dynamic shear, impact, viscosity, modulus, etc. Sample preparation: substrate cleaning, substrate modification, basic dispensing, casting, etc. Would include training on relevant test methods and use of instrumentation.
3. Reporting of data accurately with desired details (no data analysis required)

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or other related STEM field
• Minitab, JMP or other data entry software
• Experience in a laboratory or analytical lab setting

Soft Skills:

• Accurate communication of issues observed, highlighting unusual outcomes
• Able to work with a team on short term projects to allocate large deliverables to smaller individual tasks
