A leading social tech company is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to join their team on-site in Burlingame, CA or Seattle, WA
Position: UX Researcher
Location: Burlingame OR Seattle (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $80-90 / hour
Contract: 6-month W2

Join our innovative team in Reality Labs as we shape the future. We're seeking a motivated UX researcher with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ideal candidates exhibit a rigorous approach to UX research, exceptional written communication abilities, and a track record of contributing to consumer software and hardware projects. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow UX researchers and interdisciplinary teams to explore new frontiers in user experience.
Skills:
- Proficiency in a range of research methodologies and tools, such as literature reviews, qualitative methods (observation, contextual inquiry, interviews), usability testing, dogfooding programs, telemetry, and quantitative research.
- Capable of designing research programs and effectively conveying insights to stakeholders to drive impact.
- Ability to independently execute research projects, including scoping, method selection, data collection, analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaboration skills, working closely with other Product UX researchers and partner teams (human factors, perceptual science, industrial design) to ensure holistic user experience research.
Requirements:
- MA/MS in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in product UX research.
- Experience spanning various stages of the product lifecycle, from generative research to in-market UX research. Mixed methods proficiency preferred, but strong qualitative research skills with survey design experience are acceptable.
- Passion for consumer technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Human Factors, or a related field.
- Experience in launching consumer hardware and wearable technologies.
- Work experience related to voice control or LLM technology.
- Strong skills in qualitative research, survey design, and written communication.
Additional Information:
- This role is primarily onsite, with potential for a hybrid setup.
- Opportunities for assignment extensions.
- Standard phone screens; a writing sample would be appreciated.
Performance Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated based on the ability to communicate effectively, an advanced degree in a relevant field, proactive communication, proficiency in mixed methods, survey design, experience with hardware and product launches, and the ability to execute end-to-end research independently.
