A leading global technology firm is seeking a Direct Sourcing Commodity Manager to join their team in Cupertino!
The Direct Sourcing Commodity Manager is responsible for supporting the sourcing and installation of specific construction materials used in the company’s Retail Stores worldwide.

Key responsibilities:

Administration

• Work with a team to manage process proposals and change orders for projects.
• Track project on site date requirements and work with vendors to fabricate, deliver, and install on schedule. Develop tools to manage this requirement and improve efficiencies.
• Support and troubleshoot store integration/installation issues worldwide.

Strategy

• Evaluate data on a complex supply chain and improve existing supplier strategy for the commodity to improve and expand the supply base.
• Travel as necessary to facilitate new supplier bring-up and ensure quality specifications are met for worldwide supply base.
• Partner with R&D and Development for cost and schedule efficiency opportunities. 
• Manage highest level relationships with supply base.

Supplier Management

• Independently manages all aspects of the supplier relationship.
• Lead the distribution of RFP’s, contract negotiations and procurement for the commodity worldwide.
• Lead pricing negotiations through supply base with support from cross-functional team members.
• Creates value-engineering initiatives for this commodity.
• Continuous research and education of the commodity technologies and suppliers to review market trends applicable to improving the store environment.
• Negotiates contract independently with management review for key terms and conditions.

Execution

• Ensure flawless execution of project delivery and quality for commodity.
• Manage supplier forecasting to ensure zero airfreight exposure for commodity.
• Identify process improvements and efficiencies.

Key Qualifications:

• Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently.
• Must have experience working well with cross functional teams.
• You possess strong business acumen and experience managing strategic supply chains, cost models, and complex procurements.
• You have a background in handling detailed negotiations.
• You have excellent interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).
• 5-10 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience.

Rate/Salary: $45.00 – 59.00/hr DOE
