What are we looking for in our Accounting Services Associate II - REMOTE in US Pacific Time Zone Location ?
Our client, one of the largest insurance corporations, is seeking an Accounting Services Associate to join their team. This role will provide direction, support, and planning in the daily operations of a business unit responsible for processing accounting and billing services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, GAAP, and business procedures related to insurance, travel, and members' services. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Pay Rate Range: $24.00 to $28.57 per hour / depending on experience
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM Pacific Time
Location: Remote - Must Reside in the US Pacific Time Zone
Duration: Position is a 3 month W2 contract role
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and support in the daily operations of the accounting and billing process.
- Verify, bill, reconcile accounts, post, compute, and summarize accounting and billing records.
- Prepare financial exhibits and reports, ensuring compliance with company procedures and identifying questionable entries of moderate complexity.
- Handle adjustments and corrections, ensuring proper authorization and processing within system applications.
- Verify and process invoices, matching them with purchase orders and assigning appropriate codes to accounts.
- Post and balance subsidiary ledgers, ensuring proper posting of revenues/payments according to internal procedures.
- Analyze and audit accounts of moderate complexity, researching and resolving discrepancies in payments and delinquent transactions.
- Prepare and verify deposits and balance cash receipts for moderately complex accounts.
- Act as a resource to lower-level associates and assist with coaching and mentoring.
- Assist with batch processing and resolve any out-of-balance conditions.
- Work in a typical office setting, sitting at a desk or computer workstation for extended periods.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
- Prefer Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of insurance, travel, or member-related business practices and financial accounting/statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles/GAAP.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and diplomatically.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Solid understanding of business unit applications.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheets and word processing software.
- Ability to coach and mentor lower-level associates.
- Travel may be required to attend business meetings or conferences.
