What are we looking for in our Content Strategist - AI & Editorial?
Location: Remote (West Coast Preferred)
Pay Rate: $50 - $55/hour
W2 contract duration: 6 months
Summary:
The Content Specialist III will write, review, and edit content for platforms, leveraging exceptional editorial judgment, creative versatility, and strong data analysis skills. This role demands expertise in AI tools, prompt engineering, and nuanced editorial oversight, including topics such as politics, bias, gender, and religion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and review diverse content for platforms, from creative copy to detailed, informative text.
- Apply editorial expertise across multiple styles and use cases, demonstrating adaptability and creativity.
- Analyze large-scale datasets, producing actionable reports to guide internal and external stakeholders.
- Consistently apply and uphold content guidelines to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Collaborate with content and product teams to enhance user experiences.
- Flexibility to work extended schedules, including weekends, based on project needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in journalism, digital content strategy, production, or related fields.
- Proven expertise in prompt engineering, annotation, and AI tool utilization.
- Strong critical thinking skills with demonstrated editorial judgment for complex and sensitive topics.
- Familiarity with AP Style and editorial standards.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet applications (e.g., Google Sheets, MS Excel) and basic data analysis tools.
- Ability to perform data visualization and present insights effectively.
- Experience creating and publishing multimedia content across various formats (text, audio, video).
- Background in visual content creation, including photo editing, video production, or creative writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of the social media landscape and its trends.
- Strong storytelling skills to craft compelling narratives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Top Must-Have Skills:
- 6+ years of experience in journalism, content strategy, or production.
- Experience with AI tools, including prompt engineering and annotation.
- Proven editorial expertise in multimedia content creation across various formats.
Good-to-Have Skills:
