Senior Manufacturing Cost Analyst Full Time

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Senior Manufacturing Cost Analyst analyzes key financial information to optimize financial planning. This role assists senior business managers with financial decision-making, prepares financial reports, and develops and implements strategies to reduce businesses’ operational and production costs.  The Senior Manufacturing Cost Analyst encourages others to discover, develop and apply their talents enabling them to reach their full potential and actively engages in our Lean journey by building and acting on continuous improvement and development opportunities.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for site strategy and execution of manufacturing finance activities, coordinating planning, pacing, and closing activities. Own P&L and balance sheet activities, including cost accounting, inventory controls (PI, Revals, standards, variances, etc.), product fulfillment and COGS booking, functional costs, VCP/BCP, P&E, etc.
• Assist in creating long term plans for the Duncan facility and short-range forecasts, understanding/evaluating key business drivers, tracking progress against plans 
• Strong connection with the operating team to drive Variable Cost Productivity and balance inventory/logistics tradeoffs 
• Understand, communicate, and explain variance drivers within the business 
• Lead and provide analytics on strategic initiatives
• Drive standardization and process improvement.
• Support physical inventory and asset PI
• Support inventory and P&E estimate, planning and reporting cycles
• Manage standard setting process 
• May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
• Impacts the team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. Work is subject to functional policy objectives. Regularly advises management in the function and/or in the business. Has a supportive role in decision making about important subjects.
• Offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters to construct and provide recommendations.
• Use internal and external resources outside of own function to make decisions.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university or college, with an excellent working knowledge of GAAP.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of eight years’ experience in manufacturing cost accounting environment.
• Significant experience in Finance & Manufacturing Operations.
• Experience with year-end audits and physical inventories/cycle counting programs.
• Experience with process mapping and improvements.
• Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA
• Certified Manufacturing Accountant (CMA)
• Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma
