Today we’re highlighting our Lead Recruiting Coordinator at Cruise, Hayley Samuels. Find out what she does here at Russell Tobin, how she helps our clients, and hear the advice she has for candidates who are in the job market.

Tell us about yourself:

I live in Denver with my husband and our dog, Xena. When I’m not scheduling interviews, I love watching HGTV, eating sushi, and trying new Colorado breweries and restaurants. We’re regulars at a brewery where we play trivia every Wednesday night.

What is your favorite part about being an Recruiting Coordinator (RC)?

I am so lucky to work on a team full of fun, supportive, and hardworking individuals from a variety of backgrounds. It’s a cliché, but my coworkers truly are my favorite part about being an RC.

What makes you feel accomplished as an RC?

Applying to a new job comes with a lot of stress, and being able to ease some of that stress when working with candidates always feels like a big accomplishment to me.

What is one tip you would give to a potential candidate?

As a candidate, and in any position you’re hired for, I believe it’s crucial to communicate with clarity and compassion. Being intentional about how you communicate is going to go a long way in making your experience successful and enjoyable for you and those around you.

What drew you to Russell Tobin?

The clear trust that leaders at Russell Tobin have in their employees was a big draw for me. Knowing I have that gives me confidence to do my work to the best of my abilities every day.

Where do you see yourself in two years?

I’d like to continue managing an incredible team of people. With the work-life balance that exists within Russell Tobin, I’m also hopeful that I’ll be able to start a family and be a successful working mom.

What is one thing you wish people knew about your job?
